Below are the golf target ring sizes with a brief explanation of each:
Why so many Golf Training Rings? Anyone who was using the original 6-foot golf target circles always wanted one size bigger or one size smaller. We received so many requests we first made the 3-foot ring, then the 12-foot ring, and so on. Our suggestion is this. At a minimum, you will want an 18-inch and 6-foot ring, but if you want a bigger challenge and more motivation to practice, get one of our sets.
The WHITE Golf Ring set features the following sizes: 18-inch, 3-foot, 6-foot, 12-foot. Notice that the rings double in size each time. This configuration would be recommended for the average golfer, where the 18-inch ring is used as a landing target to get the ball to roll into the 3, 6, or 12-foot rings. Your scoring challenge might be 10-points if the ball goes in the hole, 5 points inside the 3-foot ring, 3-points inside the 6-foot ring and one point inside the 12-foot ring. The WHITE GolfRing set comes with a large green nylon carry bag.
The YELLOW Golf Ring set features even-numbered rings. The 1-foot ring would be the landing ring and the 2-foot, 4-foot and 8-foot rings would go around the hole. The YELLOW set is intended for advanced level players, and like the white rings, double in size and may be used for scoring challenges. The YELLOW set comes with a medium green drawstring bag.
The Golf Ring is the short game practice aid that no golfer wants to share. The genius of the Golf Ring short game practice system is in its simplicity.
The Golf Ring enables golfers of every age and skill level to effectively put short game techniques into action by providing the appropriate visual target to "groove" the chip, pitch or putt by. Most importantly, the Golf Ring makes practicing your short game fun! Regular users talk about it being a "game within the game". This golf target game will change the way you learn to lower your scores and increase your confidence. The Golf Ring is being used by some of the biggest names in teaching and tour golf each time they practice. Isn't it time to put it into action for you? The Golf Ring…It’s a Game Changer!
We now sell individual rings to give you maximum flexibility on how you want to set up your short game area. For example, put one 6' ring around the hole but have five 18" landing stations around the green. Create a game for kids where the 12' circles are the green. Use the 3-foot rings for lag putting drills, the 18" rings for putting distance control and the 9' ring for extra precision for both chipping and putting.
Note: If you get more than a couple of rings we would recommend the Golf Ring carry bag. It is a nice green nylon drawstring bag to store your rings. Get the large size for white rings or the medium size to store yellow rings.
My name is Jim Owen and I am the Director of Men’s and Women's Golf at Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, Georgia. I was one of the first college coaches to recognize the unique practice benefits that the Golf Ring could bring to our short game efficiency. The discovery of the Golf Ring led to our incredible success this season.
In May of 2009 Oglethorpe won the NCAA Division III National Championship at the PGA Village in Port St. Lucie, Florida. Our team has used the Golf Ring for the past year and watched our short game statistics improve dramatically. We have always spent 75% of our practice time on our short game. We just had never had a portable target area as easy to use, easy to carry to practice, or economical as the Golf Ring. It can be used in every drill you use around the green. It gives you immediate results you can visualize while you work. The Golf Ring provides quantifiable results.
The Golf Ring has proven useful as a short game tool for chipping and pitching as well as a great target radius for bunker play. I have found it especially useful as a putting target. The six-foot Golf Ring radius laid around the cup gives a player a realistic three-foot circle around the hole which gives your mind's eye a comfortable target to lag the ball into on long putts.
My team at Oglethorpe led the nation in 2008-09 in Division III in Total Short Game (non-sand & sand saves combined) at a spectacular .519. As a team, we got up & down 3.5 out of 6.0 opportunities per round per player. We also finished 2nd nationally in Putts on Greens in Regulation at 1.885.
At the 2009 NCAA National Championship, our short game success was 96 of 149 (65%) for our five players over the four days of the Championship.
When people asked what led us to victory my answer was always we hit our share of fairways and greens. However, I would add, we separated ourselves from the top of the field with our ability to get the ball up and down around the greens on the unforgiving Pete Dye Course at PGA Village. We were able to get two of three shots up and down when most teams in the top five were getting two of four up & down!! The Golf Ring helped us bring home the first NCAA National Championship for Oglethorpe University! Thanks, Golf Ring!
